Dog Days of Summer Photo and Video Contest Winners!

Thanks to all of you who entered pictures and videos in our Dog Days of Summer Photo and Video Contest this summer. It certainly was not easy for our judge, i Love Dog’s own Ask a Trainer, Eugenia Vogel, to pick a winner.

She said, “Wow – that was hard. So many cool photos!” But after careful review and consideration, she was finally able to decide on the first and second-place winners. Without further pawdo, here they are!

1st Place: Starr

Vogel said, “Starr’s all-out, let’s-play-hard running shows you don’t have to be a pup to have crazy fun in the summer!”

Beverly Jean Strahley, Star’s mom, says of her 8-year-old Boxer, “She recently lost her best friend, our 8-year-old Bull Terrier, Maxx, to cancer. So we have a new Bull Terrier puppy, Eddie, who keeps her running all day long. It has been quite an adjustment for her. You can see in the photo that she is on the run from him. They play happily in the backyard several times a day. Starr is loved completely, as she is a sweet and well-behaved Boxer.”

Dex and Turtle

2nd Place: Dex and Turtle

Vogel chose Dex and Turtle has our second-place winners because, she said, “These two know how to party! Their enthusiasm bubbles over. Fetching Whippets – gotta love it!”

Christine Fay, Dex and Turtle’s dog mom, says, “They can’t take turns fetching the stick, so they have to bring it back together!”

1st Place in Video: Skye

Skye’s unleashed enthusiasm and sheer joy of play warms my heart. What an awesome balloon herder!,” said Vogel. Skye is a Blue Heeler mix.

We had such a good time with this contest and really enjoyed all of the photos and videos submitted by our readers. In our humble opinions, they were all winners!

Don’t put your cameras away just yet, because we’ll be having another contest in the fall. Stay tuned for the details.
