It’s time for your morning buzz! If you’re heading to the Big Apple, you and your pooch are going to need a pick-me-up for all the walking you’ll be doing. These pawesome dog-friendly coffee shops in New York will pamper pooches and perk up pet parents.
1. Sweetleaf – 10-93 Jackson Ave., Long Island City (map), 917-832-6726
Named one of the top 30 coffee and espresso bars in New York City by the New York Times, this unique coffee bar features the NYC staple Stumptown and is the only shop in New York that sells Verve coffee from Santa Cruz, Calif. Sweetleaf loves dogs and encourages their customers to bring them in. They’ll even post a photo of your pooch on their Facebook page.
2. Coffee Labs Roasters – 7 Main Street, Tarrytown (map), 914-332-1479
Coffee Labs Roasters has been dog-friendly since they first opened their doors in 2002. Unfortunately, they are currently on pending status for a dog waiver after one person complained to the health department. Loyal customers have started a Facebook page to show their support for the coffee shop. They also are posting pictures of their pooches in happier times, lounging at Coffee Labs Roasters. Hopefully this pawesome shop will be able to open their doors to their four-legged customers again soon.

The Breadbox Cafe got 4 stars and a great review on Yelp from a pooch named Wookie and that’s straight from the dog’s mouth. Every year, the Breadbox Cafe hosts a Halloween Dog Parade and Costume Contest for all their pooch patrons. The dog with the best costume wins a pawesome prize. Check out the photos of some of the adorable costumes on these classy canines on Facebook.
