Dog Friendly Activities in Nevada
If you’re heading to the Silver State for a vacation with your pooch, be sure and add these dog friendly activities that’ll get your dog’s tail wagging! From watching or competing in a dock diving competition to lapping up libations at a Yappy Hour, you and your four-legged friend won’t want to come home!
Attend a Dock Diving Competition
Spend the day at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, where your dog can enter a dock diving contest with four competitions: Big Air; Extreme Vertical; Speed Retrieve; and a new sport, Iron Dog, with the Las Vegas DockDogs. Without any age limit for handlers or any type of breed restriction, the competition should be fierce. The hotel also recently launched its Pet Stay Program where guest dogs will be greeted by several canine-friendly in-room amenities including a mat, food and water dishes, disposable waste bags and dog treats. The event runs from Oct. 25-28; 3 p.m. to 12 a.m. Oct. 25, and 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. the other days.
Every third Thursday of the month, the Rumor Boutique Hotel hosts their Yappy Hour, featuring cocktail specials, “Yapatizers” specials, giveaways and doggie treats! Enjoy music from their DJ, let your dog run in the huge courtyard and enjoy free doggie goodie bags! All dog sizes and breeds are welcome and the event runs from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Catch their next event on Sept. 20.
