Looking for a hot spot in Washington, D.C. to lap up libations with your pooch? The Federal City has plenty of dog friendly bars that offer yappy hours and doggie menus for your four-legged companions.
1. Patt Roys Irish Pub – 111 N. Pitt Street, Alexandria, Va. (map), 703-549-4535
Sit back and enjoy a pint, then order one of the pub’s delicious entrees such as beef or lamb stew off of the doggie menu for Fido. Be sure to check out the rules from the city of Alexandria’s health department to ensure that you and your dog have a safe and happy visit on the bottom of the doggie menu. The pawpular pub is open seven days a week and was once patronized by former President Ronald Reagan!
2. Rustik Tavern – 84 T Street NW (map), 202-290-2936
Yelp reviewer Pixie H says, “Water for pets is available upon request. Rustik Tavern has a huge, covered dog-friendly patio that’s open until 10-11 p.m. depending on the night of the week.” So if your pooch is parched you can unwind together on the tavern’s patio.
3. Larry’s Lounge – 1836 18th Street NW (map), 202-483-1483
